Yields 5 Cups Ingredients 6 Tbs. butter 1 Tbs. minced onion 1/2 Cup Flour 3 Cups chicken broth 2 Cups wild rice (cooked) 1/2 tsp. salt (skip salt if you plan on adding ham) 1 Cup half and half 2 Tbs. dry sherry (optional) Snipped parsley (optional) Directions 1. Prepare wild rice 2. Saute onion in butter till soft 3. Add flour and stir till smooth 4. Add broth, wild rice, salt, half and half, sherry, parsley, (ham, carrots, almonds) 5. Cook till hot Variations Add 1/3 Cup minced ham Add 1/3 Cup finely shredded carrots Add 3 Tbs. slivered almonds (chopped) |
